It makes me want to read more and see how much is fact and how much is fiction (most). I do also like the settings.JohnFhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13294886206454693626noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5050562120926551216.post-84257538884618763092016-06-17T07:20:14.141-05:002016-06-17T07:20:14.141-05:00Charles Doyle was a lazy man and took to drinking ...Charles Doyle was a lazy man and took to drinking around London. The family feared that their reputation in London society could be affected by Charles' antics so they used their Catholic connections to get him a job in Edinburgh. Scotland's capital city was considered far enough away. CD did not make a success of the job and spent a lot of time drinking in the city. He often ran out of money and ended up drawing in return for drink. It was stated in some bios of ACD that most pubs in Edinburgh had artwork by Charles on their walls.

He was pensioned off and after that his deterioration was fairly rapid.Alistair Duncanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16199962410016780822noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5050562120926551216.post-84059700971574487002016-06-16T17:07:18.683-05:002016-06-16T17:07:18.683-05:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10991930491968566768noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5050562120926551216.post-29150404997454341822016-06-16T17:07:12.146-05:002016-06-16T17:07:12.146-05:00I stopped watching the series five minutes into th...I stopped watching the series five minutes into the second episode. I find it anything BUT enjoyable (And I sometimes still catch an episode of 'Elementary'!) I will still read your comments though. (Saves me from an hour of agony in front of the t.v. - not my idea of Doyle.)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10991930491968566768noreply@blogger.com
