Who would have thought. . . .

John Wayne was fond of literature, his favorite authors being Charles DickensArthur Conan Doyle and Agatha Christie. His favorite books were David Copperfield, and Conan Doyle's historical novels The White Company and Sir Nigel.

    1. I've never believed that John Wayne was just playing himself on screen. Within his range, he can give quite nuanced performances. Doyle should be happy that there's at least one fan of his historical novels.
