Magic of the internet . . .!

I decided to try and find some more information about the actor, Cuyler Hastings, on the playbill I posted yesterday.. . .
and here is some of what I found.

It sounds like he was a pretty famous actor in his time. Probably known to William Gillette, a contemporary.

He killed himself in 1914, and his death made at least two appearances in the NY Times.

It appears he was the first actor after Gillette to appear in Gillette's play, 'Sherlock Holmes'

There is rather a lot out there on him if you search.
