Yea, this is what we are all crying out for, right?

Not!

  1. I know there is at least on blogger critical of "Elementary's" making Sherlock and Moriarty lovers. No doubt there's others. However, based on a gut feeling of mine from watching "Sherlock", I suspect the Moffat and Gatiss wanted to do that with Cumberbatch and Scott as well, but were afraid that would be a bridge too far and lose them many traditional Sherlockian viewers.

Whether the BBC makes Sherlock and John lovers hardly matters, the majority of the fans already have in their headcanon and fanfic and we traditional Sherlockians will have to live with the fall-out in the general public's perceptions that this is so in Doyle's Canon for many years to come. "Education never ends, Watson." We "Trads" will just have to work harder to get people to read Doyle.

  2. Although the need by some to go that way has always been part of the Sherlockian world, it seems to be even a bigger part of the world of 'Sherlock'.
