An episode involving whistle blowing and genetic science.
You put to much science in any show and it usually goes right over my head. As it did this time. Not the fault of the show, but of my own cerebral capacity.
I liked the show, but in this case I think the humor was over played and got a little tiresome.
I wish there had been a little more conclusion for the the rich guy at the end, but it was not necessary.
Several good Sherlockian references.
We had Norway mentioned several times as the location of the scientist. We know Sherlock used the name Sigerson, a Norwegian, explorer, as an alias at one time, stated in 'EMPT'.
And we also know that Neligan was bound for Norway in 'BLAC'.
Of course we had several mentions of bee's throughout the episode.
We have seen in several Canonical tales a business being used as a front for something else, or as a place to gain access to another. The dry cleaners was a front (as well as a test for Watson) for an illegal business.
We have Holmes stating, basically, that he takes a case for it's own merits and not for money.
We once again have 'Holmes' showing his knowledge of science.
Poison is used in many cases mentioned in the Canon. Sherlock is working on one when he meets Watson. 'DEVI' also is a case of poison.
A fun show this time but not a great one. I think the acting was good again, and 'Watson' was a little more animated than she has been for a while. I found the reason for the plot; a well known doctor planning murder to get funding to save himself, a little weak, but the clues to get to that point were fun.
We once again don't have any hookers (What's up with that?). Butwe do have a little single-stick.
I give this one:
I think they need to move beyond using the Bees as a Canonical Reference. It has been quite overused.
ReplyDeleteI too was surprised that they made no mention of the guy who tried to hire Holmes.
I did like the scene where Holmes teaches Watson to always carry an evidence bag.
But the relationship seems headed in a different direction, based on the way Holmes reacted to Watson getting help from her old professor at odd hours.
B2B.
Yea, the relationship was a little weird this time.
