My wife can't stand the smell of them. . .

. .  so therefore, will not try them. But I kinda grew up with them and can eat them right out of the can..
Wish we could get them before they are canned over here, without paying an arm and a leg.

Any mention of kippers or fish in the Canon as a food?

  1. In "A Christmas Story Without Slush", Christopher Morley writes of Holmes' love of meat and bird-game. "But he never ate fish; he can't have been English? There was some talk about trout in the Shoscombe case, but only as pretext." Burt Wolder reads the whole piece on I Hear of Sherlock Everywhere: Episode 49: I'll Have A Blue Christmas. No mention of kippers.
